Private Practice: Pediatric

Description

We are a small, growing private practice seeking a compassionate and skilled part-time speech–language pathologist to join our team. Our therapist-run practice values clinician satisfaction and work-life balance, offering flexible scheduling so you can choose what works best for you and your family. We take a holistic, root-cause approach to care, supporting children and families with speech, feeding, and myofunctional challenges. The position will begin at 6–8 hours per week and has the potential to grow as the caseload grows up to 20 hours per week, depending on the clinician’s ideal schedule. Hours may also be increased by provision of teletherapy services or school-based services, if desired. At least one day of after school availability required.

Skills And Competencies

Applicant must have experience working with speech and language disorders in the pediatric population.
Previous experience working with autistic children and children ages 0–5 preferred.

 

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Empathy and patience in dealing with children and families
  • Ability to work independently with remote support


Must have the ability to perform the following job duties:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders; use standardized tests, observations, and interviews to evaluate patients' needs.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results; set specific, measurable goals for each patient; adapt treatment plans as necessary to meet changing needs.
  • Therapy Implementation: Provide direct speech and language therapy services; utilize evidence-based practices to deliver effective interventions; employ a variety of techniques and tools to engage patients in sessions.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and document patient progress towards therapy goals; regularly update treatment plans based on patient progress; provide feedback to patients and families on progress and areas needing improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with families, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to support patient progress.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology; participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance therapy skills and knowledge.
  • Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements; write reports and maintain proper documentation of information, such as client Medicaid or billing records or caseload activities, including the initial evaluation, treatment, progress, and discharge of clients; adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines set forth by the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA).

Median Pay and Range

All of our employees are part time and their take home pay varies depending on their desired work load. This particular role will have 6–8 hours guaranteed.

Client Availability and Impact on Pay

At least 6–8 hours are guaranteed. If the clinician desires an increased schedule (up to 20 hours), the remaining hours will be dependent on caseload availability.

Pay Rate Determiners

Rate based on years of experience. Additional increases for bilingual clinicians or completion of specialized certifications/trainings.

Schedule

Clinician can choose their own schedule, with at least one day of after school availability required.

Flexible depending on the clinician's desired schedule. Will start at 6–8 hours per week (312–416 hours per year). May increase up to 20 hours per week as the caseload grows.

PTO

PTO begins accruing immediately upon hire. Employees accrue 1 hour of PTO per 18 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours for part time employees. PTO can be used for any combination of personal, sick, vacation or holiday pay.

Holidays

No. Holidays are unpaid for part time employees, unless the employee opts to use PTO.
