Description

Speech Pathologists at Columbus Speech & Hearing gain valuable experience working with diverse clients in a collaborative, nonprofit clinic that has been a part of the community for over 100 years. We provide crucial access to families in need of speech and language services. Our teams are able to reach into the community and provide the specialized support individuals need to thrive with their communication goals. Skills And Competencies

  • Manage clinical caseloads for all assigned clients. Clinical responsibilities include completing screenings, evaluations, treatment and/or consultative recommendations, generating all necessary client documentation, providing volunteer training/supervision if indicated, and meeting the high standards of the Center as described in our mission, vision, and core values.
  • Can provide services at the Main or Satellite Center, contract sites, community-based preschools, and/or community
  • Complete special assignments, as requested (ex. serve on committees; provide in-service trainings to peers, etc.).
  • Work with the Director of Speech Services to determine a work schedule that meets your needs and the needs of the Center including 2 late days and short Friday schedule.
  • Attend weekly Department Staff Meetings and monthly Center Staff Meetings, unless excused by the Director of Speech Services.
  • Create and meet annual goals as a part of the performance review process (ex. specific education to grow skill set).
     

Required Qualifications

State licenses: Ohio Department of Education as necessary.
CCCs required: Yes
Other required qualifications:
Meet the health standards of the Ohio Department of Health, if required as a part of a specific clinical assignment (ex. preschool, school contract).
Physical requirements: must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, must be able to sit on the floor to interact with young children for extended periods of time.

Quality

Schedule

This is a salaried position and does not require you to clock in or out. Our clinics are open Monday through Thursday 8:30am–6:30pm and Friday 8:30am–2:30pm. Hours worked are flexible but two later days are required. Most clinicians choose to work slightly longer hours Monday through Thursday and shorter days on Friday.

Additional Work Hours

Attend a community event 1x/year.

PTO

Accrued PTO that accrues from day 1 with 4.31 hrs/pay period for a maximum allotment of 112 hours for a 40 hour work week. PTO accrual increases at 3 years and 6 years.
Bereavement up to 3 days.
Extended illness accrued for an extended paid sick leave.

Holidays

We are closed New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. Clinic closes with paid days Christmas Day through New Years Day.
