Schedule
Clock-in time is flexible, but the therapist must be available during school hours, typically between 7:30am and 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday.
This school district does not hold classes on Fridays, so therapists have the option to:
- Complete paperwork from home on Fridays, or
- Extend their workdays Monday through Thursday to take Fridays fully off.
Some flexibility is offered to accommodate personal schedules as long as student needs are met and required hours are fulfilled.
Additional Work Hours
Most IEP meetings are held during the school day, but occasionally they need to be held right before or after school. Earliest and latest are 7:00am-8:00am or 3:30pm-4:30pm.
PTO
We offer a combined PTO policy, meaning time off can be used for vacation, sick days, or personal time as needed.
Amount: Employees receive 80 hours of PTO in their first year.
Distribution: PTO is granted up front at the beginning of the year.
Request Process: PTO is requested through our workforce app and is typically reviewed and approved by a supervisor within one week.
Additional PTO may be offered in future years based on length of employment and role.
Holidays
All major school holidays are observed, including Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Break, and Spring Break.
We also provide holiday pay for 5 holidays during the first year of employment (e.g., Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day).
Productivity Requirements
There are no minimum productivity requirements; however, therapists are eligible for weekly bonuses based on productivity.
In the school setting, productivity is considered met by working all previously assigned hours.
Bonuses are calculated weekly, so if a therapist is sick or takes vacation for part of the month, they do not lose their entire month’s bonus—only that week is affected.
This system supports consistency and rewards commitment, while still allowing flexibility for time off when needed.
Caseload Cap
We do not have a strict caseload cap, but we are intentional about matching therapists with caseloads they are comfortable and confident managing.
We do not accept school contracts with caseloads that are unreasonably high or exceed what a therapist feels is manageable.
Our district contracts include a clause stating that if a caseload increases by more than 15% during the school year, a meeting will be held with the director to arrange support or additional coverage.
This approach ensures that therapists are set up for success and students continue to receive high-quality services.

Support includes collaboration with experienced team members, access to shared materials, and guidance on documentation and district-specific procedures.
SLPs are generally expected to begin working independently within 2–3 weeks, though this timeline is flexible based on individual comfort level and caseload complexity. Ongoing mentorship and check-ins are available beyond the onboarding period to ensure continued support and success.
