While this job post is built assuming part-time hours, we we’re here to support you if you're interested in growing your caseload to full-time!
We offer hands-on training, mentorship, and ongoing support in early intervention, and our collaborative team is committed to professional growth and high-quality, evidence-based services. You'll have the autonomy of in-home work with the full support of a connected, clinician-focused team.

Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?
We have separate rates for different types of work. Direct billable treatment time is paid at $60–$70 per hour, based on experience, languages spoken, and travel flexibility. Clinicians are expected to complete SOAP notes during the final 10 minutes of each session, which is considered part of the direct paid time.
The flat rate for completing a progress report, including completing a one hour evaluation and report writing, is $200 total per progress report. This applies to ongoing clients, and these reports are typically required once every six months, depending on the length of the contract and Regional Center requirements.
We also provide mileage reimbursement at $0.60 per mile, applicable only for travel between client locations, regardless of the time gap between sessions.
Early intervention evaluations are paid at a flat rate of $200, which includes both the home visit and evaluation report.
We pay for client cancellations that occur with less than 24 hours’ notice, at the clinician’s direct billable rate. The clinic confirms sessions 72 hours in advance, and if a family cancels with less than 72 hours’ notice more than three times, our strong attendance policy allows for potential discharge to ensure service consistency and support clinician compensation.
Clinic meetings and trainings are paid at $16 per hour. Clinic meetings and trainings are held remotely.
Client Availability and Impact on Pay
Hours are not guaranteed, as pay is based on actual client sessions and availability. The clinician’s weekly pay may vary depending on factors such as client cancellations or temporary gaps in caseload. However, we do compensate clinicians at their full rate for cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice.
Clinicians who have greater flexibility in availability and are open to traveling across multiple cities and time slots tend to have a higher likelihood of maintaining a full caseload. We work closely with each clinician to match them with clients that fit their preferred locations and availability, but overall hours and pay may fluctuate based on client attendance and demand.
Pay Rate Determiners
Yes, the pay rate may vary within the listed range. Compensation is determined based on clinical experience, relevant early intervention background, and languages spoken. Clinicians with more extensive experience in early intervention and home-based services may fall on the higher end of the pay range. Additionally, bilingual providers (English/Spanish) are highly preferred in this region and may receive higher compensation due to increased demand for bilingual services and the ability to serve a broader population.
Benefits
Paid Sick Time: In compliance with California law, W-2 employees accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, with a minimum of 40 hours (or 5 days) per year provided. Unused hours roll over annually, up to a cap of 80 hours. This benefit is paid in addition to the quoted hourly rate and is not deducted from the employee’s paycheck.
Stipends (taxed)
We currently offer the following taxable stipends for eligible W-2 employees:
Professional Development Stipend: Up to $250 per calendar year to support continuing education, licensure renewal, and conference participation. This stipend is paid as taxable income and may be reimbursed upon submission of receipts.
Therapy Materials Stipend: Up to $100 annually to support the purchase of therapy tools or resources for in-home use. This is paid as a taxable stipend in addition to hourly compensation.
Reimbursements (untaxed)
Mileage Reimbursement: Clinicians are reimbursed $0.60 per mile for travel between client sessions, regardless of time gaps. Mileage reimbursement is non-taxable and paid in addition to the hourly rate.
Professional Development Reimbursement: Clinicians may receive up to $250 per calendar year to cover costs related to continuing education, licensure renewal, or conference registration. This is reimbursed upon submission of receipts and is non-taxable when used for qualifying professional development.
Therapy Materials Reimbursement: We offer up to $100 per year for therapy materials or tools needed for in-home sessions. This reimbursement is also non-taxable with proof of purchase.
Schedule
On average, clinicians work 10 paid hours per week, depending on their availability and client need. This includes direct service and paid documentation time. In addition, there is approximately 30 minutes of unpaid time per week for tasks such as responding to emails and coordination. Clinicians average approximately 520 paid hours per year (based on 10 hours/week over 52 weeks), with an additional 2 paid hours per year allocated for report writing (1 hour every 6 months). Unpaid administrative communication averages 26 hours per year (30 minutes/week).
SLPs have the flexibility to choose their own schedule and preferred cities for travel. Upon onboarding, each clinician will complete a form indicating their availability and service areas. Schedules may include sessions any day of the week (Monday through Sunday) based on the clinician’s preferences and client needs. If an SLP needs to change their availability, they must notify the clinic at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure continuity of care and prevent service gaps for families.
There are no set clock-in/clock-out times; however, hours worked are tracked based on session documentation (SOAP notes) submitted through the client portal. Payroll is processed based on SOAP notes, which must be submitted on the same day the session occurs.
SLPs requesting time off must do so at least 2 weeks in advance. For same-day cancellations, the clinic must be notified at least 4 hours prior to the scheduled session. In case of a last-minute emergency, clinicians must notify the clinic immediately so families can be informed in a timely manner.
Additional Work Hours
Clinicians may be asked to participate in training sessions or support meetings to promote clinical growth and maintain service quality. These may occasionally take place outside of direct service hours, but SLPs will be informed in advance to allow for coordination with their schedule. Additionally, SLPs are expected to attend quarterly clinic meetings, which are used for team collaboration, updates, and ongoing support.
PTO
No paid time off. SLPs are required to request time off at least 2 weeks in advance to allow for coordination of client services. All requests must be submitted in writing and approved by the clinic.
For sick days, clinicians must notify the clinic at least 4 hours before the scheduled appointment. In cases of last-minute emergencies, clinicians are expected to notify the clinic as soon as possible so the family can be informed promptly.
Holidays
SLPs are not required to work on federal holidays, but services may still be offered on those days depending on family preference and clinician availability.
If an SLP has a scheduled session that falls on a federal holiday and does not plan to work, they are responsible for notifying the clinic at least 4 weeks in advance and coordinating a make-up session with the family. Holiday absences are considered unpaid unless otherwise arranged through a rescheduled session.
Productivity Requirements
Clinicians are expected to maintain a minimum attendance rate of 80%, which is calculated every 3 months on a rolling basis. This ensures consistency in care for clients and supports clinician accountability and reliability within the team. This includes being present for all scheduled sessions, with exceptions made for approved time off and excused absences (e.g., illness or emergencies reported within the required time frame). Maintaining this standard helps support service consistency and ensures that clients receive regular, uninterrupted care. Failure to meet the attendance requirement may result in a review of scheduling, caseload, or continued placement with the clinic.
Caseload Cap
No. We do not have a formal caseload cap, as SLPs have full control over their schedules and can determine the number of clients they are comfortable seeing based on their availability and preferred service areas.
Dedicated Space
No. Home health position
Parental Leave Policy
Eligible employees may take up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave under the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) and the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to bond with a new child.
Additionally, California's Paid Family Leave (PFL) program provides up to 8 weeks of partial wage replacement for employees who need time off to bond with a new child. As of January 1, 2025, employees earning less than $63,000 annually may receive up to 90% of their regular wages, while higher-income workers may receive up to 70%, with a maximum weekly benefit of $1,681.
Does the Contract Include a Non-compete or Non-solicitation?
Yes. SLPs may not provide services through another agency that serves Regional Center clients in the same geographic area during the term of their employment. Additionally, if an SLP operates their own private practice, they are prohibited from soliciting clients from Multimodal Communication Speech Clinic P.C. for private services, either during or after the termination of their employment.
