Description
Established in 2009 on the principles of servant leadership and families first, OTG is committed to helping children thrive by delivering exceptional results, learning new techniques, and providing an exceptional team environment! We hope you visit our website to learn more about our clinic and if you'd be the right fit to join this incredible team. You don't have to take our word for it, though. Check out what one of our SLPs has to say.
"Oceanside Therapy Group is a great place where you work with and work for great people! A family-centric company where interdisciplinary collaboration supports our greatest objective of all: success for the child! Working at OTG has helped me to refine my craft by teaching me to consider the needs of the whole child versus just the objectives in the treatment plan. Promoting play-based therapy and connection over compliance, my time at OTG has resulted in authentic relationships with both my patients and co-workers!" ‐ Mollia, SLP, at OTG since 2022
Skills And Competencies
Oceanside Therapy Group is a pediatric private practice working with SLPs, OTs, and PTs. We offer a very supportive work environment in which each individual values learning and sharing their experiences, whether they have 10 years in the field or it's their first week. Excellent time management and communication skills will take you far in this clinic. With a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, all other skills can be acquired along the way.

Median annual take-home pay is $79,543 for a 32-hour work week (4 days x 8 hours). This would increase to $97,760.00 if the SLP worked 40 hours per week.
Since each SLP works a different schedule according to their preferences, it is rare that any of our therapists work a full 40 hours, although we welcome that!
Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?
Yes
Client Availability and Impact on Pay
Yes, weekly hours are guaranteed as the schedules are set. SLPs clock in/out according to the schedule we agree upon at the time of hire regardless of whether they have cancellations, no shows, or other non-session time. An SLP may choose to clock in late (for morning cancellations) or clock out early (for afternoon cancellations) if they would rather shorten their workday. Only in that situation would the time be unpaid. Clocking in late/out early is neither encouraged nor discouraged and completely up to the individual SLP.

Schedule
OTG is open Mon–Thur 8am–6pm and Fri 8am–5pm. Therapists may choose any schedule within those hours that appeals to them, with strong priority placed on after school hours to be included. Our SLPs do not work more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week, most opting for M-Th 9-6 and half days on Fridays. Once we agree upon a schedule, we discourage changes to that schedule for the sake of the families we serve.
Additional Work Hours
No. All expected hours are within the set schedule. We do not allow working off the clock.
PTO
Paid Time Off (PTO): All employees must have supervisory approval before using PTO, which must be requested at least fourteen (14) days in advance of the beginning of the anticipated time off period. The accrual rate is based on seniority (increasing based on years in the company until maxing out at year 5). New hires begin with an accrual rate @ 0.0192 (equivalent to one workweek per year) which increases until the rate reaches 0.0577 (equivalent to three workweeks per year) on the 5th year of employment.
Paid Sick Leave (PSL): Accrual rate @ 0.0192; carries over from year to year.
Holidays
OTG is closed and therefore offers 6 paid holidays per year: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. We are open every other holiday, and therapists are expected to work if that day falls during their normal schedule unless they request PTO. We are closed and the day is unpaid the Friday after Thanksgiving. Depending on where during the week Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall, we may have additional unpaid closures. If an unpaid closure poses a financial hardship, we will happily work something out to accommodate additional work time.
Productivity Requirements
OTG aims to have 90% productivity. We have an incredible administrative team to support this goal by handling scheduling, authorizations, claims, etc. We provide incentives for reaching high productivity, such as extra non-session time the following week, but there will never be a negative consequence for lower productivity. We prioritize time spent helping children over time spent on administrative tasks whenever practical.
Caseload Cap
We don't have caseload caps per se. However, since each session is 1:1, SLPs have reasonable caseloads proportionate to their weekly hours worked.
Dedicated Space
Yes: individual office
Parental Leave Policy
Parental leave is unpaid (FMLA); however, individual employees may qualify for state benefits (i.e., disability).
Does the Contract Include a Non-compete or Non-solicitation?
Yes, according to CA labor regulations.
Clinical Fellowship
Accepts CFs? Yes
% of SLPs in company who are CFs: 5-15% depending on staffing needs and availability
CF supervision provided: Yes
CF details: Oceanside Therapy Group has excellent CF supervisors who provide onsite supervision and scheduled 1:1 meetings. This is an area in which OTG takes a lot of pride, as our CFs are supported but not coddled. They will develop strong clinical skills under the leadership and thoughtful supervision of an experienced SLP. We limit how many CFs we hire at a given time in order to provide the best possible experience for both the CF and the CF supervisor.
Training program: We offer a tiered training program as follows:
Week 1: 1 hour of training with HR + 1 hour of training with the Office Manager (more if needed) + 2 hours of training with the Therapy Director
Week 2: 1 hour of training with the Therapy Director + 1 hour of training with the SLP manager (if needed for specific areas)
Weeks 3+: Same as Week 2 until the SLP and the trainer agree that training is no longer needed. Some SLPs are ready to end training after 2 months while others prefer to continue training for 5-6 months. It's at the pace of the new SLP with no end date predetermined.
Every therapist attends biweekly department meetings as well to continue learning together.
