SLPs are able to put dedicated time for testing/documentation/paperwork during school hours so that they do not take work home.
Additional Work Hours
Each school has their own IEP schedules. Some schedule during the days some schedule before and after school. There are meetings that school staff are required to attend such as staff meetings, principal meetings etc. that are done monthly. They do not go past one hour of the end of the school day.

All certificated employees hired after the start of the school year shall have sick leave benefits prorated for the balance of the school year. The District shall provide each certificated employee with access to a password protected on-line account in order to check sick leave balances at any time.
Any unused sick leave shall be accumulated from year to year without limitation. After a certificated employee has used the total sick leave allowance, the certificated employee will receive fifty (50) percent of the salary for any continuing illness absence up to the statutory limit of one hundred (100) work days. Full deduction of salary will be made for days off due to illness which are more than the accumulated sick leave and after the statutory one hundred (100) work day limitation.
A certificated employee who will be absent should notify the principal or designee as soon as it is known that the certificated employee will be absent and not later than one and one-half (1 1⁄2) hours, if possible, before the certificated employee is to report for duty. Accepts CFs? Yes
% of SLPs in company who are CFs: 6%

CF details: In the past we have offered extra support when CFs get overwhelmed with their workload (typically SLPA coverage). We like to individualize help so that it is the right amount of support that SLPs need. CFs are not left on their own to figure it out here!
Training program: We have strong SLP mentors in the district that we match based on your personality and setting. We also have SPED TOSAs (teachers on special assignment) that offer additional help with IEPs and documentation. CFs are expected to complete all parts of their jobs and can ask for support as needed. CF supervisors are available to help for the entirety of the school year. A minimum of 8 hours is provided every month but most CFs talk to their supervisors daily or weekly. Our schools work on a team basis and SLPs have the support of their school psychologist and other related staff as well. There are 29 SLPs in the district and we all email each other regularly for help. We meet monthly for trainings/round table and SLPs are encouraged to ask for help.
