Description
Work in a beautiful setting on the island of Maui! Maui Speech and Swallow is a private practice located in the heart of Wailuku, HI. Team members currently consist of occupational therapists and speech language pathologists, servicing a wide variety of populations from infants and toddlers to school-aged, adolescents, and adults or geriatric populations. Our mission is simple yet powerful: To empower individuals of all abilities.
Note: We allow clinicians to choose between a salaried and a pay-per-visit contract structure. The following job post is our salaried version.
Skills And Competencies
Desired but not mandatory skills and competencies include pediatric feeding and swallowing expertise, as well as experience in adult swallowing disorders. The candidate should have strong communication skills with a sense of ownership, responsibility, and a strong work ethic.

Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?

Our clinicians work 35–40 hours per week, and provide direct, face-to-face services for no more than 32 hours per week. They will be responsible for completing evaluation reports, documentation, and attending mandatory meetings. Some travel (up to 1.5 days) may be required, which accounts for a portion of indirect time.

The pay may be higher for clinicians who sign a contract with the company for at least two years and have experience in pediatric feeding or swallowing.

If the employee lives out of state, he/she is eligible for a $500 relocation assistance.

Work hours are generally between 9 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility.

Each employee is granted 40 hours of PTO (Paid Time Off) and personal time off per year, starting from their employment date. Sick leave must be taken from PTO. If an employee wishes to take time off, they must submit a request at least two weeks in advance for approval.
Holidays
SLPs are not required to work on designated federal holidays, and these holidays are paid time off. However, if an SLP chooses to work on a holiday, they will receive their regular holiday pay (8 hours) in addition to their usual earnings based on their salaried or pay-per-visit compensation structure.

CF details:
Training program: The CF training program is structured into three segments, incorporating regular meetings with the supervisor using ASHA’s rating scale.
At the start of the program, the clinical fellow (CF) will shadow and/or work alongside the supervisor for 1–2 weeks to gain hands-on experience.
During the initial phase, the CF will receive close guidance and feedback on documentation, clinical skills, and overall performance.
The CF may be required to video record sessions for review with the supervisor as part of the learning process.
As the program progresses, the CF is expected to become more independent in their clinical responsibilities while still receiving ongoing mentorship.
