An AAC team is available to support students requiring augmentative and alternative communication systems. This position does not include evaluations, allowing you to focus on robust, effective therapy and due process responsibilities.
This district implements the 3:1 service delivery model, ensuring time for make-up sessions and completion of indirect work. Direct and indirect time is paid at the same rate. You’ll also benefit from working in a district with a large, supportive SLP team that meets regularly for collaboration.

Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?
All time worked is paid, both direct and indirect work. The only time not paid is when provider is absent. The hours per week may fluctuate with things like winter break. However, the hours are based off of school-based FTE.
Client Availability and Impact on Pay
If client cancels with less than 24 hours notice, the provider still gets paid, as the company still bills the district for that time. In the event of other reasons where direct therapy is cancelled, such as a snow day or a class field trip, if there is indirect work to complete (such as IEPs, evaluation reports, billing, progress reports, etc), the provider can still work the hours but are recorded and billed as indirect work (but at same rate). If the provider is absent for being ill, vacation, funeral, etc. and the time cannot be made up, those hours will not be paid (or billed to school).

Schedule
This position is in a North Minneapolis suburb district. There are two middle school positions available, full-time, approximately 37.5 hours per week (184 days per school year; 1380 hours per school year).
Indirect work can be completed during hours outside of the typical school hours, on occasion, but is not to be abused. For example, if there is MA billing to be completed, a provider can do so in the evening instead of during their prep time. However, this can't be abused because some indirect work needs to be completed when the provider needs to communicate with other school staff in order to do the indirect work.
Additional Work Hours
No, all IEP meetings, etc., should be scheduled during school hours. If they are not, the provider will not be required to attend those. In the event the school asks if the provider is willing, the school will be billed additional hours and hence the provider paid for his/her time. This is not required, however.
