Description
The Kuna School District offers a supportive, collaborative environment with a friendly team of teachers and special educators. You’ll likely have support time from an SLPA, and We Are Better Together’s School Director also serves as a supporting SLP within the district. Many other We Are Better Together therapists work throughout the district and are always happy to collaborate and help.
Our team spans several school districts, ensuring there’s always someone to connect with and lean on. We value open communication and welcome feedback, continuously working to enhance the employee experience while providing the best possible care for the children and families we serve.
During our hiring process, we take time to get to know each applicant as a person. We believe we can train a great SLP, but it’s just as important to us that we’re the right fit for each other.

Benefits

Schedule
Clock-in time is flexible, but the therapist must be available during school hours, typically between 8:00a, and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Some flexibility is offered to accommodate personal schedules as long as student needs are met and required hours are fulfilled.
Additional Work Hours
If there are after-hour commitments (rare), working hours can be shifted within the week. We are Better Together holds paid staff meetings monthly where attendance is encouraged, but if unable to attend, at alternate time can be arranged within working hours.
PTO
PTO We offer a combined PTO policy, meaning time off can be used for vacation, sick days, or personal time as needed.
Amount: Employees receive 56–80 hours of PTO in their first year.
Distribution: PTO is granted up front at the beginning of the year.
Request Process: PTO is requested through our Workforce app and is typically reviewed and approved by a supervisor within one week.
Additional PTO may be offered in future years based on length of employment and role.
Holidays
At this school, the following holidays/days are observed: Labor Day, Election Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, MLK Day, President's Day, Memorial Day. Additionally, there are multiple school breaks including: Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, and Spring Break.
We provide holiday pay for 5 holidays during the first year of employment (e.g., Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day).
Productivity Requirements
There are no minimum productivity requirements; however, therapists are eligible for weekly bonuses based on productivity.
In the school setting, productivity is considered met by working all previously assigned hours.
Bonuses are calculated weekly, so if a therapist is sick or takes vacation for part of the month, they do not lose their entire month’s bonus—only that week is affected.
This system supports consistency and rewards commitment, while still allowing flexibility for time off when needed.
Caseload Cap
Idaho does not have a strict caseload cap, but we are intentional about matching therapists with caseloads they are comfortable and confident managing.
We do not accept school contracts with caseloads that are unreasonably high or exceed what a therapist feels is manageable.
Our district contracts include a clause stating that if a caseload increases by more than 15% during the school year, a meeting will be held with the director to arrange support or additional coverage.
This approach ensures that therapists are set up for success and students continue to receive high-quality services.
