Description
Provide specialized evaluation, instruction, and consultative services required to meet the unique educational needs of students who are experiencing educational difficulty, within a multi-disciplinary problem-solving team structure.
Location note: We're looking to fill a position in the East region, likely Maple Valley–Anthon Oto, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn, and Remsen Union area. However, assignments are reviewed annually so the specific location(s) may be adjusted.
Skills And Competencies
Problem solving, designing and implementing intervention plans, participating in student evaluations, using analysis of interventions, planning assessment and reporting to determine eligibility. Develop and implement therapy plans, use available technology to complete and disseminate documentation of activities and results.

Our staff are reimbursed mileage expenses. Most, or all, of the supplies and equipment are provided by the AEA (employer).
Schedule
Our staff work 5 days a week. There are no clock in/clock out hours. Our SLPs work in schools, coordinating with teachers and administrators on times to work with children. SLPs work 40 hours per week.
Additional Work Hours
Our Early Childhood department occasionally has after hours work, but this position is a day-time position.
PTO
SLPs receive 2 personal days per year, and are given 10 days of sick leave per contract year for the first year of employment and are entitled to the number of days specific in Iowa .
Code Section 279.40 for each year thereafter (see below).

Holidays
The SLP is not expected to work on major holidays.
Productivity Requirements
There are no specific productivity requirements. Each SLP is assigned cases based on the school district they serve.
Caseload Cap
There is no written caseload cap per Iowa law. Our administrators work diligently to assign manageable and equitable caseloads. Caseloads range from 35-65, depending on other factors, such as travel and number of assigned locations.

CF details: Our CF supervisors are compensated for the time they support our new SLPs.
Training program: SLPs working on their CFs are provided supervision for one full academic year, and are provided mentoring supporting during that same time. In their second year, all SLPs are expected to be fully independent in their job.
