Description
I'm looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to reinvigorate their passion for the field by having a manageable caseload and scheduling flexibility to honor your roles outside of work. My micro home health private practice is in the north of Austin area. I don't accept insurance, so there is much freedom in designing a treatment plan that is truly best for the client—frequency, length of sessions, etc. Documentation is done via Jane EMR using templates—a daily note typically only takes 2-5 minutes to complete. There is the possibility of supervising a CF or SLPA, growing to full-time, teaching a parent course, etc., if desired.
I am the only specialist in CAS in the area and would love to provide mentorship in speech sound disorders and Apraxia, if that is an area of particular interest for you. However, the ideal candidate for my practice is someone who has, or is looking to grow, a sub-specialty in ANY area of practice.
To apply, please email to info@cypressspeech.com.
Skills And Competencies
An ideal candidate has a sub-specialty in speech sound disorders, myofunctional therapy, literacy-focused language therapy, autism—or is eager to develop a sub-specialty. No specific certifications required. Instead, skills will be assessed through treatment activities—case review, video'd therapy sessions, etc.

Pay Rate
$42–$64/session; $133/initial evaluation, $42/30 minute treatment, $51/45 minute treatment, $64/60 minute treatment, $25 per late cancellation/no show, +1 hour indirect time relative to 60 minute rate every 13 sessions

$42–$51/hr
Median Pay and Range
Approximately $80,000 for full-time staff.
Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?
Indirect time paid relative to the 60-minute rate
Client Availability and Impact on Pay
Hours are not guaranteed, however, families are required to sign an 80% attendance policy to mitigate frequent cancellations. Typically, there are 1-2 sessions cancellations/week. In the event of cancellations, the administrative assistant makes every effort to fill a clinician's schedule. However, if you prefer, you are welcome to end your day earlier, run an errand or do personal tasks instead of filling that spot.
Pay Rate Determiners
Pay dependent on length of session.
Benefits
Due to the size of the company and part-time status, traditional benefits are not offered.
Stipends (taxed)
Gas per mile (if past 6 miles from home office)
Reimbursements (untaxed)
$200 toward licensure renewal (ASHA or state)
Schedule
The schedule is generally very flexible. However, sessions must be performed within the windows of Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–6:30 pm. Personally, I cap my schedule at 6 sessions/day but you are welcome to schedule more, if desired, up to 8 sessions/day.
This is a part-time position: 13-25 sessions a week (1 hour paid indirect time for every 13 sessions). Sessions are typically 30-minutes, but may be 45-minutes and, rarely, 60 minutes depending on the needs of the client and scheduling.
Additional Work Hours
None required but there may be extra duties offered.
PTO
PTO not offered for part-time staff. If you are out for illness, vacation or personal reasons, you have the flexibility to make up sessions, if desired.

No, SLPs are not expected to work on federal holidays. Rather, they are strongly encouraged to take the time off and go have fun! Holidays are not paid for part-time staff.
