Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?
No, direct time only.
At Little Red Wagon Pediatric Therapy, we use a hybrid pay model during the first 90 days of employment to allow new therapists to gradually build their caseload. During this time, therapists are paid hourly. Once a full caseload is established, compensation transitions to a per-visit rate.
Evaluations are paid at $90 each, and there are supervision opportunities with a monthly stipend for those who mentor CFYs or SLPAs.
Client Availability and Impact on Pay
Hours are not guaranteed; pay is based on the established per-visit rate once a full caseload is built. If a client cancels, therapists are free to adjust their schedule. For example, if a client cancels at 8:00 a.m. and the next appointment isn’t until 9:00 a.m., the therapist may arrive later. If a client cancels the last appointment of the day, the therapist is free to leave early. This flexibility allows therapists to manage their day while maintaining work-life balance.
Therapists may use this time for documentation, planning, or collaboration, and we do our best to keep schedules consistent.
Pay Rate Determiners
Where a clinician falls within the pay range depends on several factors, including:
Experience level (e.g., CF, early career SLP, or experienced clinician with multiple years in pediatrics)
Caseload capacity and productivity expectations (ability to build and maintain a full caseload)
Supervision responsibilities (those who supervise CFs or SLPAs receive a monthly stipend in addition to their regular pay; this is not included in the pay structure or visit rate)
At the lower end of the range, compensation is typically offered to CFs or clinicians newer to the field, who receive additional supervision and mentorship. At the higher end, compensation is offered to experienced SLPs who bring advanced pediatric expertise, strong independent caseload management skills, and/or assume supervisory responsibilities.

Dental & Vision Insurance: Fully covered by the practice, eligible after 60 days of employment.

Stipends (taxed)
Therapists who mentor and supervise CFs or SLPAs receive a monthly stipend in recognition of their leadership and contribution to our team. This is in addition to their regular pay and is a great way to grow professionally while being rewarded for supporting others.
Reimbursements (untaxed)

Schedule
We offer a flexible schedule designed to support work-life balance. Therapists can choose between a 5-day workweek with 8-hour days or a 4-day workweek with 10-hour days, depending on what works best for their lifestyle. While there are no strict clock-in or clock-out times, therapists are expected to be present for their scheduled client sessions. If a client cancels, therapists have the flexibility to adjust their day, including starting later or leaving earlier if their last client cancels. Schedules are generally set Monday through Friday, and we strive to accommodate personal needs and preferences whenever possible.
Additional Work Hours
Meetings
PTO
PTO accrual starts at 64 hours per year and increases up to 184 hours per year based on years of service, allowing employees to take time off for vacation, personal needs, or illness. PTO is accrued each pay period and can be used once it has been accrued.
Holidays
Therapists are not expected to work on the main federal holidays, which include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. These days are paid holidays, allowing our team to enjoy time with family and friends without affecting accrued PTO. In addition, therapists receive extra paid days off during Thanksgiving and Christmas, which are provided in addition to accrued PTO. Other federal holidays are not observed, and therapists are expected to work on those days as scheduled.
Productivity Requirements
We like to keep things productive—and rewarding! Our goal for therapists is 60% productivity, meaning most of your scheduled time is spent working directly with clients. The best part? Anything above 60% earns you a bonus, so your hard work and dedication don’t just help kids thrive—they’re also celebrated with extra pay!
Productivity Bonuses per pay period:
65% = $125
70% = $250
75% = $500
Caseload Cap
We believe in keeping your caseload just right—enough to stay busy and challenged, but not so much that it feels overwhelming. Therapists who have fewer than 18 direct patient hours per week are considered part-time, while those with 18 or more direct patient hours are considered full-time. With our per-visit pay model, you have the flexibility to work together with the clinic to build your caseload, giving you both control over your schedule and your earning potential. This approach ensures you can provide high-quality care, stay energized, and even celebrate the little wins with your clients!
