Schedule
8 hours/daily Monday–Friday, hours dependent on primary or secondary, (24–25 school year hours 7:15 am–3:15 pm for elementary, 8:15 am–4:15 pm for secondary, specific start/end times subject to change). SLPs work in teams to cover multiple schools in Bend or La Pine. Headquarters are 520 NW Wall St Bend OR 97703.
SLPs have the ability to schedule their day as they see fit, with the expectation that they take the contractual breaks/prep time/caseload management time, and meet IEP minutes and caseload management duties. SLPs can schedule as needed for their students, with some scheduling restrictions based on student breaks and core instruction time. SLPs often see students in a variety of formats throughout the day, which can include pull-out groups, 1:1, quick artics and push-in support or co-teaching.
Additional Work Hours
All IEPs and meetings are held during work hours.
PTO
10 days sick PTO, 2 personal days PTO/yearly, given at the start of the school year. PTO is requested via paper form to school secretary and building admin (process subject to change to electronic requests via employee time system this year). Bend-La Pine participates in Paid Leave Oregon for partial reimbursement of salary for family or personal medical leaves such as maternity or paternity leave.
Holidays
Holidays and breaks are off and unpaid (not counted towards 190 days/yearly). Salary is divided by 12 and paid each month, so days worked per month do not impact your monthly take home pay.
Productivity Requirements
Not required, planned/staffed at 60% of time in direct therapy with students.
Caseload Cap
No caps, system for equitable caseload distribution among SLPs
