Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech therapy sessions and evaluations for a diverse pediatric population
  • Diagnose and develop care plans for clients with the support of Expressable tools and resources, with a focus on clinical outcomes, client/caregiver buy-in, and education.
  • Complete all documentation in accordance with our quality and timeliness standards.
  • Fulfill all required training, client communications, screenings, licensing and credentialing tasks, and internal communications in a timely manner.
  • Provide PTO and sick coverage for sessions and evaluations for care continuity
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through Expressable resources, mentorship, and monthly Grand Rounds with fellow clinicians and clinical leaders.

Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?

Yes. All hours in the W2 Hourly Flexible compensation model are paid. 

  • Clinicians are paid a clinical rate (above; $40–$56) for their direct time, and then automatically compensated at the clinical rate for anticipated documentation based on CPT code allotment.
  • Any additional time needed to document, attend meetings, etc. is compensated at an admin rate. Because this is a new contract type, we do not yet have data on how often the average clinician would need to log this lower admin rate.
  • For cancellations, you are paid an allotment of 5 minutes per late cancel/no show. If a cancellation occurs in advance, its likely that that time can scheduled with a PTO reassignment of split 30 minute evaluation, or one of your other clients could be moved to that time as well. Attendance is variable across the team, but we have many team members in excess of 80–90% attendance.

 Hours are not guaranteed and cancellations are unpaid.

Schedule

You may work as few as 5 direct hours/week, or up to 40 hours/week.

 

The hourly flexible model was intended to provide as much flexibility as possible to SLPs, including the ability to build a schedule/availability that works for them. We provide suggestions on times of day that fill best depending upon how fast they'd like to grow their caseload and to what size, but they ultimately can decide when they'd like to work.

No PTO, but they can take unpaid time. Sick time is accrued based on hours work up to 10 days/year.

Productivity Requirements

Productivity at Expressable is an efficiency metric and as caseloads ebb and flow in composition (some weeks heavier in evaluations e.g. caseload building some are heavier in sessions such as when a caseload has been built). Because of that, productivity expectations can change week to week dynamically, but typically fall within 75%–85%.

An SLP is never scheduled past their scheduling limit which changes based on which scheduling/availability option they choose.

Qualifications

Skills And Competencies

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of post-Clinical Fellowship experience
  • Experience in pediatric settings and conducting pediatric assessments
  • Proficiency with computer technology and ability to adapt to new tools independently
  • Experience working with insurance-based populations, such as Medicaid

 

Preferred skills and experience

  • Experience working in teletherapy settings similar to Expressable
  • Experience with adult clinical care and conducting adult assessments
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities (e.g., Spanish or other languages)

Required Qualifications

State licenses: We are recruiting in the following states but and it is required to hold a state license in one of these states to be eligible for consideration: California. Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, New York. You will need a California license to start working this position though, and we'll help you get that if needed.
