Description
Our ChildStrive team is collaborative, thoughtful, committed, centers learning, and is encouraging of each other. We support families in a neurodiverse-affirming, trauma-informed, child-led way, recognizing that families are the experts on their child. Our team puts families in the driver's seat of their child's plan as we work together to create goals that meet their priorities important to them. In our visits, we join families in their concerns, brainstorm strategies, and support their interactions and relationship with their child to best support carryover and confidence. Most of the time, this guidance looks like feeding, shared engagement, and communication support during mealtimes, playtime, sleep, community events, and playdates; really, whatever the child is doing at that day and time of the visit. ChildStrive facilitates an environment to care for ourselves, centering learning to support families with their unique priorities. Working as an SLP at ChildStrive is both rewarding and empowering. Every day at work, I support families and build their confidence as caregivers, all while building my capacity for reflection, creative problem solving, and evidence-based practice.

Schedule
Expected to see clients and complete all aspects of the job within the agreed hours, up to 40 hours per week. The weekly schedule is flexible depending on the number of clients being seen and scheduled team meetings. The clinician has a lot of autonomy over their schedule as long as they communicate with their team lead and team.
Up to 2080 hours per year.
Additional Work Hours
May participate in community outreach events; staff may flex their time in their week if needed.
We have a robust feeding team and have monthly discipline team meetings, in addition to weekly geographical team meetings that support team members to deepen their professional capacity to support families and young children. Continuous Learning is something we value at ChildStrive.
Each clinician also participates in a monthly Reflective Consultation group where clinicians, with peers, reflect on how beliefs, life experiences, and values impact one's work with young children and families.
PTO
Unaccrued paid time off. A full-time SLP may take up to 400 hours per year. The actual amount taken will be based on program needs and how well the SLP is meeting the needs of their caseload, documentation, and team needs.
Holidays
An SLP is encouraged not to work on any federal holidays or days of significance to the SLP. Holidays are part of the unaccured PTO benefit.
Productivity Requirements
We do not. We expect staff to be able to complete all aspects of their work, including seeing clients, evaluations, documentation, IFSP meetings and team meetings within the hours they agreed to work. If parts of the job are not completed to program standards or timelines, we will connect with the team member to discuss barriers and explore solutions to meet program expectations.
Caseload Cap
We do not have a caseload cap. Each team member shares their caseload capacity at their weekly team meeting so that the team has a sense of their ability to take on new referrals. Their team lead and program manager monitor the weekly weighted totals of clinicians based on the total number of clients seen, the frequency of visits, and other professional activities such as # of evaluations in a week. Frequency of visits is based on a number over 3 months (a quarter) to give the clinician flexibility of how often they see a client based on the family's needs and availability. When we see a team member's caseload increasing rapidly, we will check in with them about their caseload capacity.

Training program: ChildStrive matches each new employee to a mentor of their same discipline with an emphasis on providing the most optimal growth potential possible. Mentors provide one-on-one guidance around professional development, skillset expansion, and understanding Early Supports for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) program requirements and practices.
One-on-one mentorship for new professionals starts at the time of hire and goes through the first year of employment. These meetings start at weekly intervals and slowly decrease down to once a month to reflect the growing independence and support network the employee gains throughout the year.
All staff participate in reflective supervision with their team leader throughout their employment. This is a time to connect with the team lead to share triumphs, challenges, wonderings, goals, etc., and to build a supportive relationship with the team lead and to ensure the success of the team member.
