Description
I am the sole SLP of a small neurodiversity-affirming practice with a special interest in autism, gestalt language processing, and AAC. I am seeking a neurodiversity-affirming SLP with experience working with AAC users and gestalt language processors (or who is willing to learn and be mentored), as well as late talkers and kids with phonological disorders.
We provide in-home therapy to children ages 2 to 18, with most of our children at two to eight years. My goal is to create a supportive environment, not just for families, but also for our clinicians, with an opportunity for mentorship, support, learning from each other, and growing. It is important to me to work in a culture where everyone feels accepted and can follow their passions, be fulfilled, learn and grow, and make a difference.
Mission statement: To support the development of authentic communication and to provide a safe space for autistic children and their families, where they can find support, make connections, and find community.
Employment
W2
Compensation
Pay per visit
Contract
$63–65 per 45-minute treatment session; $61/ 45-minute treatment session during CF year
Informed Pay
$68–$73/hr
Median Pay and Range
Following are some pay examples at 90% attendance rate:
If you saw 25 clients/week at 90% attendance rate and made $63/session, you would make ~$5670/month; if you saw 30 clients/week at 90% attendance rate, you would make ~6804/month. This is before taxes are taken out.
Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?
No. $160 per 1 hour evaluation ($150/per evaluation for CF with support from supervisor); $42/hour for writing AAC funding reports up to 3 hours, and for training/on-boarding; ($40/hour for CF with support from supervisor).
Client Availability and Impact on Pay
Clinician will be responsible for re-scheduling canceled sessions, so there is some control over the ability to reclaim payment for a session; the potential rates above are not guaranteed, and are calculated at a 90% attendance rate to be conservative and represent pay for potential cancellations; if they had 100% attendance, the rates above would be higher. We also have a strict cancellation policy to deter cancellations. Anyone who repeatedly cancels at the last minute could be charged for the full session (in which the clinician would also be paid), or taken off the schedule.
Pay Rate Determiners
Anyone doing their CF Year would start at $61/session during CF year and then per session rate would be increased once CF year is complete; depending on how much experience an SLP who has completed his/her CF year has, that SLP could earn closer to the higher range; if an SLP has extensive experience, I would be open to discussing a pay rate higher than that listed above.
Benefits
None
Stipends (taxed)
None
Reimbursements (untaxed)
Schedule
This is flexible and depends on the needs of the clinician and clients; clinician can have as much or as little control as they would like (within the parameters of client availability) to make their schedule; I do have families that need after school hours, so working a few later afternoons/evenings would be nice. My current latest client ends at 5:30pm.
Additional Work Hours
No.
PTO
(I am a working mom and having flexibility is important to me. If a clinician needs/wants more time off than the allotted paid time off, I'm open to discussing further unpaid time off as needed).
Holidays
This is up to the clinician, but they would need to use their paid time off, or request unpaid time off.
Productivity Requirements
No.
Caseload Cap
This is a per/session position. Clinicians can see as many or as few clients as they would like. For someone working full time, I would recommend a caseload of 25–30 clients; however, if someone wanted part-time, caseload would be less.
Dedicated Space
No: home health
Parental Leave Policy
Any parental leave would be within the above outlined 3 weeks paid time off; beyond that 3 weeks + accrued sick leave, it would be unpaid.
