Description

We are hiring a speech–language pathologist to join our home health SLP group in the Phoenix area! You'll primarily serve adult clients, and occasionally pediatric (optional).

Median Pay and Range

Full-time clinicians are making around $3250 to $4050 biweekly. 

Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?

No:

  • Rates are paid per visit.
  • Documentation is designed to be as simple as possible and point-of- contact. There are times we pay more for extra time involved for some “close-out” documentation that is required from agencies,  if it falls outside a billable visit. We are also working clinicians so we support our clinicians and pay out whatever is reasonable for work completed.
  • Cancellations are unpaid.

Client Availability and Impact on Pay

  • Cancellations are unpaid.
  • Caseloads can fluctuate. We receive 10–15 new referrals per week. If clinicians is willing and able to travel to different areas of the valley, it is possible to keep a steady caseload of up to at least 20 patients at a week. 
  • Prior to hire, we offer shadowing to assist with acclimating to position and learning tips to streamline productivity. There will be a slight delay in full pay at initial hire, due to the need for orientation, training and setting up credentials. 

Pay Rate Determiners

  • Clinicians new to home health start at the base rate and increases are applied as skill develops. We also provide performance bonuses that can exceed upper rate.
  • Clinicians with 5 or more years of home health are paid at higher rates depending on caseload amount and structure. Performance bonuses are also available throughout the year.

Quality

Schedule

Highly flexible. Clinicians make their own schedules. Hours are relayed with each visit note.

No, any required meetings or trainings are optional and reimbursement is provided.

Time off is determined by the clinician and the clinician is responsible to notify administrator, and any ongoing patients, who may need coverage while they are away.

Holidays are unpaid and are at the clinicians discretion.

Caseload Cap

No, although 30–35 hours is a very full caseload and documentation is due within 24–48 hours. If clinician is able to maintain timely and accurate documentation, there is no caseload cap.

Qualifications

Skills And Competencies

A state-certified speech–language pathologist evaluates, diagnoses and treats home health patients for swallowing, speech, voice, language and cognition needs in the home to optimize independence and safety. 

The speech–language pathologist organizes and plans weekly patient schedules. Clinician also contacts patients to coordinate schedules and communicates regularly with primary care providers. Administrative help is provided as needed.

 

We value clinical professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who are highly motivated, flexible and organized. Willingness to learn and adapt are essential. 

 

Must have:

1. Master’s Degree in speech pathology therapy as required by state licensure laws

2. Arizona State Registered SLP License

3. AZ fingerprint clearance card filed upon hired

4. Work experience in the field at some level. Clinicians new to home health will be trained as needed.
