Description
This is a therapist owned clinic, co-owned by a speech language pathologist in Wasilla, Alaska. Our clinic has a physical office that is stocked with a variety of speech materials and there is no limit on material requests as long as they are required for effective therapy. The clinic is a hybrid model which offers in-clinic and home visits, which allows for flexibility in scheduling and improved functional home carryover. SLPs have full autonomy over length of sessions and frequency of sessions.

Required: Independently researches and implements appropriate interventions for articulation, phonology, fluency, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, augmentative and alternative communication, early language therapy, language interventions, and supporting literacy skills.
Desired: A therapist who has experience with pediatric feeding and swallowing would be highly considered for this role, as the lead SLP at the company currently manages all of the feeding and swallowing cases, and would prefer to share them with a coworker. Mentorship and continuing education in this area of the field will be provided to the right candidate.

Full Pay Rate for All Hours Worked?
For this hourly role as listed, yes. This includes documentation, meetings, and collaboration.
However we do also offer pay per visit contract types as well.
Client Availability and Impact on Pay
The hours are not guaranteed and can vary depending on the clinic's availability as well as the SLP's availability and preferences. Full-time hours are expected to be 32–40 per week.
Pay Rate Determiners
$55/hour
However, the SLP may ELECT to be paid per visit for $65 per visit. We offer this option specifically because some individuals with our company complete primarily home visits and manage their own schedule more autonomously, and this allows them more freedom; so each individual at our company, regardless of if they are primarily conducting visits in clinic, in-home, or a combination of the two is able to choose how they would like to be compensated for their services.
Benefits
The threshold for benefits eligibility is 32 hours per week.
Reimbursements (untaxed)
Schedule
An hourly employee is expected to clock in and clock out when they start and end their work day. Paid per visit employees just keep track of how many visits are completed each week. Our therapists have a great deal of autonomy over their regular schedules, and are able to elect to do short 4–5 hour days if they are part time, 8 hour days, 10 hour days, or 12 hour days.
Our company values each employee's autonomy and does not put a limit on time off and allows each clinician a reasonable amount of input on their scheduling preferences.
Additional Work Hours
None
PTO
We do not have any PTO or sick days, however there is also no cap on unpaid time off.
Holidays
The clinic observes the following holidays: New Year's Day, independence day, christmas eve, Christmas day, and new years eve. Any other holidays may be taken off at the therapist's discretion, but are considered unpaid time off.
Productivity Requirements
There are no strict requirements, however, I can provide information about our current SLPs' productivity. An SLP working 40 hours per week would be expected to complete 35–45 visits per week, averaging out to approximately 75–85% productivity expectation.
Caseload Cap
We do not have caseload caps. Our current other full time SLP currently manages a caseload of 29 clients.
Dedicated Space
Yes: shared office with others
Parental Leave Policy
Unpaid
Does the Contract Include a Non-compete or Non-solicitation?
Yes: our clinicians sign a contract stating that they may not solicit others away from our company. They are otherwise free to join other competing businesses in the area or start businesses of their own if they so choose! (We work hard to maintain our relationships with our referral sources in the area and would prefer if patients were not solicited away).
Clinical Fellowship
Accepts CFs? Yes
% of SLPs in company who are CFs: 0 currently, but I have supervised 3 CF's in the past.
CF supervision provided: Yes
Training program: Non-CF's are expected to be independent at this job after 1 week of consistent collaboration and training with leads. They are provided training on our documentation system through the system itself, as our documentation system has training videos that go along with it. CF candidates will collaborate consistently with the lead SLP for 2 weeks, then transition to being primarily independent with support as needed and supervision as required by ASHA.
